Can anyone give me a blackhead busting homemade facial scrub "recipe"?

posted on August 28, 2010 in homemade scrub

My usual stuff costs quite a bit per bottle and I use it twice a day so it doesn’t last long. I also looked on the back and the list of chemicals in it scared me a bit. Just what crap am I putting on my face every day?

I want to make my own but it has to be good at removing blackheads as I always suffer from them. It would be great if it help moisturise too as I get dry skin.

Something that smells lush would also be a bonus!

I have been doing this for almost a year now. I get compliments daily on what nice skin I have.

I use a mix of grapeseed oil, tea tree, lavendar oil, castor, avacado oil, and rosemary oil…..and usually either a bit of EVOO, almond, or apricot. Just depends what I am in the mood for. I make a new batch about once every 2 weeks.

I also do a sugar scrub every 2-3 weeks with 3 kinds of sugars (white, brown, and raw) mixed with my regular facial blend and peppermint oil added. It makes my skin nice and tingly and exfoliates nicely.

Seriously….my skin looks better than it ever has, including the year when I tried proactive. :)

  1. okay so blackheads are nasty: when you dont wash your face and dirt gets stuck into your pores

so you’re gonna want to open your pores by taking hot shower and using a rough acne scrub that helps blackheads either during or right after the shower.

I recommend St. Ives Apricot Scrub (blackheads and blemishes)

it works very well and its quite cheap
